Upper Division Company
Advanced training. Artistic growth. Leadership through dance.
Trained to perform with confidence, versatility, and purpose.
The Upper Division Company Program is designed for dedicated, advanced dancers who are ready to push their training further and take on a higher level of commitment. This division challenges dancers to refine their technique, expand their artistry, and develop the discipline and leadership skills required at an advanced level.
Is Upper Division the Right Fit?
Upper Division typically serves dancers in grades 4–12, with placement determined by readiness rather than age alone.
This division is ideal for dancers who:
Demonstrate strong technical foundations across multiple styles
Are motivated, focused, and eager to be challenged
Thrive in a structured, goal-driven training environment
Are ready for increased time, responsibility, and performance expectations
Upper Division dancers are committed not only to their own growth, but to the success of their team.
Technique, Artistry & Leadership
Training in the Upper Division emphasizes excellence across all areas of dance education.
Dancers focus on:
Advanced technique in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, and additional styles
Musicality, performance quality, and stylistic versatility
Strength, control, and injury-preventive training
Artistic expression and confident stage presence
Leadership, accountability, and professionalism
Instruction is intentionally challenging, with an emphasis on healthy dancers — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Performing at a High Level
Performance is a defining element of the Upper Division experience. Dancers regularly apply their training through challenging, meaningful performance opportunities.
Depending on team placement, dancers participate in:
Regional competitions and conventions throughout the season
National competitions for select teams
Community performances and special events
The annual All About Dance recital
Upper Division dancers may learn multiple competitive routines, gaining valuable experience in adaptability, resilience, and professional-level performance standards.
