Our Company Programs

For the passionate dancer, this audition-based program majors in technical and artistic excellence with an emphasis on team achievement through individual growth.

Competitive Dance From Kindergarten - Grade 12

The All About Dance Company Program is designed for dancers who are passionate about their training and eager to challenge themselves in a supportive, team-centered environment. This audition-based program focuses on technical excellence, artistry, and personal growth while fostering confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections on and off the dance floor.

With a strong emphasis on both individual growth and team achievement, company dancers receive focused instruction designed to develop well-rounded, confident performers.

Our program is thoughtfully structured into Lower and Upper Divisions, each led by a dedicated director who specializes in the developmental needs of that age group. This allows dancers to grow at a pace that is both challenging and healthy, while feeling supported every step of the way.

At AAD, excellence is not just about winning. It’s about commitment, progress, and becoming the best version of yourself as a dancer and teammate.

Life in the Company Program

  • The Company Program at All About Dance is thoughtfully divided into Lower Division and Upper Division to support dancers at different stages of development. Each division is designed with age-appropriate training, expectations, and performance opportunities, ensuring dancers are challenged, supported, and set up for success.

    LOWER DIVISION

    Building Strong Foundations

The Lower Division is designed for younger dancers who are developing their technical foundation, performance confidence, and understanding of team commitment.

    Typically includes:

    • Dancers in kindergarten-4th grade

    • Dancers newer to the Company Program or competitive training

    • Dancers ready to commit beyond recreational classes

    What training looks like:

    • Emphasis on fundamental technique across multiple styles

    • Introduction to structured rehearsals and performance expectations

    • Focus on confidence, teamwork, and positive studio habits

Lower Division programs are intentionally paced to support growth while keeping the experience exciting, encouraging, and age-appropriate.

    UPPER DIVISION

    Advancing Technique, Artistry & Leadership

The Upper Division serves more experienced dancers who are ready for increased training hours, artistic responsibility, and performance opportunities.

    Typically includes:

    • Dancers in grades 4th-12th

    • Dancers with a strong technical foundation and performance experience

    • Dancers seeking higher-level training and competitive opportunities

    What training looks like:

    • Advanced technique and versatility across multiple genres

    • Increased rehearsal time and performance demands

    • Emphasis on artistry, leadership, accountability, and self-discipline

Upper Division dancers are encouraged to grow not only as performers, but as leaders within their teams and the studio community.

  • Our training philosophy balances strong technique with artistry, teamwork, and dancer wellness. Company dancers receive high-quality instruction across multiple genres while learning the importance of discipline, collaboration, and consistency.

    Our focus includes:

    • Technical excellence across ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop, acrobatics, and more

    • Developing musicality, performance quality, and confidence

    • Building strong teams through encouragement and accountability

    • Prioritizing healthy dancers physically, mentally, and emotionally

    • Gaining exposure to diverse teaching styles through our experienced staff, visiting master teachers, and specialists, such as physical therapists, who support strong, healthy dancers

Training hours range from approximately 3.5 to 15+ hours per week, depending on age, team placement, and program level.

  • The Company Program is a meaningful commitment designed for dancers who are ready to prioritize their training and growth. Weekly schedules and performance requirements vary by team placement, age, and level, but the overall structure is consistent across both Lower and Upper Divisions.

    Weekly Time Commitment

Company dancers typically train between 3.5 and 13+ hours per week, depending on their team and program level.

    • Lower-level and hip hop–focused teams train 2-3 days per week

    • Mid-level teams train 2–3 days per week

    • Advanced teams train 3–4+ days per week

As dancers progress through the program, training hours increase to support higher technical expectations, performance quality, and team responsibility.

    Performances & Events

Performance opportunities are a core part of the Company experience. Across the season, dancers can expect:

    • 1–6 competitions or conventions, depending on team placement

    • Community performances and special events throughout the year

    • Participation in the annual studio recital

Some dancers may also choose to participate in optional solos, duos, or trios, which require additional rehearsal time.

    Family Commitment

Strong family support is essential to a dancer’s success in the Company Program. Families should plan for:

    • Consistent attendance at weekly classes and rehearsals

    • Availability for weekends, competitions, and travel

    • Clear communication and advance planning throughout the season

Detailed schedules and expectations are shared before the season begins so families can make informed, confident decisions.

  • Performance is a core part of the company experience. Throughout the season, dancers bring their training to life through meaningful performance opportunities.

    Company dancers participate in:

    • Regional competitions throughout the season

    • Conventions taught by nationally recognized instructors

    • Community performances and special events

    • National competitions for select teams

Depending on placement, dancers may learn 2–10 competitive routines, including group dances and optional solos, duos, or trios.

These experiences help dancers grow not only as performers, but as confident, adaptable individuals.

  • Company placement is determined through an annual audition process. Auditions are open to dancers who demonstrate strong technique, focus, coachability, and a desire to grow as part of a team.

Auditions typically take place once per year in the spring, with specific dates announced in advance. Dancers new to AAD are welcome to audition.

Teams are typically announced mid-July. Click here to get notified about audition opportunities!

  • At All About Dance, our Recreational Program offers high-quality training in a supportive, low-pressure environment where dancers can grow, explore, and fall in love with dance at their own pace.

    Recreational dancers receive:

    • Strong, age-appropriate technique across multiple styles

    • Structured classes with clear expectations and positive reinforcement

    • A focus on confidence, creativity, and joy in movement

This program is ideal for dancers who:

    • Are new to dance or returning after time away

    • Love dancing but prefer fewer weekly commitments

    • Balance school, sports, and other activities

    • Want excellent instruction without the demands of competition

Many dancers choose recreational classes long-term, while others use this path to build skills and confidence before auditioning for Company in the future.

Our faculty is happy to help families decide which path is the best fit, now and as dancers grow.

Another Way to Dance With Us

The All About Dance Recreational Program offers structured training and inspiring instruction with flexible scheduling and no audition required.

“Our family cannot say enough wonderful things about All About Dance! Both our daughters have been in classes there almost since they could walk and it has become a second home. From recreation classes to company, All About Dance has not only taught them technique and a love of dance but helped shape who they are. The confidence they have gained is incredible. They have learned to believe in themselves, work hard, and take pride in their performances. The All About Dance community is truly unmatched. The studio fosters an environment that is supportive, encouraging, and positive. We are so grateful for the friendships, confidence, and memories we have all gained from being part of the amazing All About Dance community!”
