Priscilla Hummel

Priscilla Hummel has been dancing for 19 years, beginning in her hometown, Ithaca, NY. She studied intensively at four different studios throughout her childhood, receiving training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and modern. In high school, she was a member of a touring dance team for five month-long tours including locations such as Brazil and India. She was a member of the Ithaca Ballet Company from 1998-2000, performing many roles in the annual Nutcracker production as well as other well-known ballets, such as Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Bolero, and Piquita, along with various original works. She choreographed the annual children’s musical for Bethel Grove Bible Church for five consecutive years, where she also founded and led the Bethel Grove Dance Troupe.

Priscilla received a BA in Theatre with a Dance minor from Brenau Univeristy in northeast GA. She taught dance and choreographed musical theatre productions for CYT Atlanta, where she was also the Summer Theatre Camp Director for 2005 and 2006. She went on to pursue her MFA in Acting with a Directing concentration from Regent University, in Virginia Beach, VA. During her time in Virginia Beach, she continued to take dance classes at the university and surrounding studios. She also taught for the Suffolk Ballet, choreographed productions for Regent University and the Salem High School Performing Arts Academy, and taught independent private lessons.

After moving to Chicago in August of 2007, Priscilla began teaching theatre and dance classes for CYT Chicago, and currently directs and choreographs various CYT musical theatre productions for youth ages 8-18. She loves teaching and hopes to encourage and inspire many of the students at All About Dance.
