 Gina Secemsky began her dance training at age 3 and has continued to learn, perform, choreograph and instruct throughout the last 25 years in all genres of dance. Well versed in the basic techniques of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip Hop, Gina experimented with other forms of movement and has expanded her dance repertoire throughout the past 12 years. She specializes in Hip Hop, Street Modern/Lyrical dance, seductive jazz performance and R&B funk in addition to conventional dance styles.
Gina’s initiation into the dance world is relatable. She began her training at local dance studios in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, performed and choreographed for her high school dance team and participated in dance conventions whenever possible. Her dance exposure flourished when Gina attended college, performing for and training with Indiana University’s Dance Company, the IU African American Dance Team and the IU Choreographer Company.
When she wasn’t gracing the stage at Indiana University, Gina was training at Joel Hall, Lou Conte and Gus Giordano with the intentions of expounding on hip-hop instruction. She has had the opportunity to choreograph and perform for various recording artists, participated as a member of the Chicago based hip hop group Prevail, choreographs and coaches high school competitive dance programs within the Chicago land area, trains at the Hubbard Street Lou Conte dance studio and teaches at a variety of venues including both therapeutic centers and fitness clubs in Chicago.
Gina challenges her students to grow beyond their emotional, mental and physical abilities through choreography and technique. While enthusiastic and full of energy, she also encourages a performance attitude in every class (regardless of age) and requires focus and attention to detail. Gina is excited about working with All About Dance and has committed to cultivating passionate dancers through our program.
